Teacher/Staff appreciation week is one of my favorite weeks, and starting next week we get to honor and recognize all of the staff that work so hard with our students. New York State Math testing finished today. NYSED and their vendor made the necessary adjustments and the computer based testing in 6th grade went well. All students were in classes by 8:00 and on their way to 1st period by 9:55. Many students started to ask about the final exam schedule and it is posted on our homepage for everyone to see. Please click the link to see this subpage: https://tinyurl.com/yac9yglu Some of our 8th grade students will be taking their regents exams during the last few days of school and will not need to report on the days when others are taking their exams.
We are in planning phases for next year and I expect that we will be building more resources and videos for parents. I will be adding different presentations about various social media platforms that our students have created. One of our goals will be to support parents with the applications and blended model that will be implementing at Cosgrove. I am looking forward to the concerts coming up starting tonight with our Jazz Bands at 7:00. Our 6th grade Band and Chorus groups will have their concert on May 8th at 7:00. The 7th and 8th grade bands will be playing their concert on May 23th. Our young musicians have come so far and I can’t believe how great they sound this spring. I am sure I will be stopping into more rehearsals.
It was tough spring for weather, but I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing our student athletes at their games over the past two weeks. In addition to having great teachers and staff, I can’t thank our coaches enough for their efforts on and off the field. I am watching their skills and more importantly their sportsmanship develop while they play at a very high level. Coaching is not an easy job and I know they love the game and our students.
