August 22, 2018

I can’t believe summer is coming to a close!  We drop off our daughter to college tomorrow and my other daughter is looking forward to transitioning from 8th to 9th grade this year.  I didn’t have kids when I started in Spencerport! Where does the time go?    We look forward to hosting our 6th grade students and families on Monday, August 27th and Tuesday, August 28th for our 7th and 8th graders. Our building is still under heavy construction for 6th grade and I ask that you are cautious as tile floors are still being placed in the 100 hall way classrooms.   Access to lockers and hallways will not be a problem.

Just a reminder to complete your annual Acceptable Use and Protection Plan form.  Please click the link to access form: https://spencerport.revtrak.net/Laptop-User-Agreement-Protection-Plan/  If you haven’t been able to access the form, we will have computers and support available to complete it at orientations, as well as pay for the protection plan in the library!

 Grade 6Monday, August 27, 2018 from 8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.

**8:00 a.m. (Last Name Begins with A—M 8:00-9:30a.m.)

 Grade 7 and 8: Tuesday, August 28, 2018 from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 a.m.

(Last Name Begins with A—M 8:00-10:00a.m.)     (Last Name Begins with N—Z 10:00-12:00p.m)

Before you leave:

1st)  Have Your Picture Taken & Receive Your ID! (Cafeteria)

2nd)  Get Your Schedule & Locker Combo!  (Auditorium)

3rd)  Make sure online AUP and Protection Plan form is done. All 7th and 8th grade students must bring their laptop, bag and charger to the Library to be assessed and restarted.

4th)   Organize Your New Locker & Tour the Building!

  • All students will have their ID photo taken, even if they are not purchasing photos (flyers to purchase pictures will be available in the cafeteria when you come in for orientation).  We are bringing in more cameras this year to accommodate the shorter time frame.  ALL STUDENTS will be having their SCHOOL PICTURES TAKEN ON ORIENTATION DAY & will be receiving their ID AT THAT TIME!
  • Parents or guardians must come with their child.
  • The building will be open until 8:00 p.m. for the remainder of the week for students and families to make sure students are comfortable with their schedule, locker, etc…

On another exciting note, we are also getting ready to prepare for our Festival of Nations event that will take place in November.  We are asking families to consider representing the country that they are from.  Last year, we had 20 countries represented and it was incredible to learn about Germany, Ireland, Yemen and many others.  We are interested in hearing about where you are from and celebrating your heritage.  Please complete this brief survey.  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2Q95FZC

Once again, thank you for all that you do to support our students and school.  It is an honor to head into my 11th year as principal of a nationally recognized “School to Watch!”  Please reach out to the administrative team for anything.   Mr. Centola will be working primarily with 7th grade students [email protected] and Mrs. Pincelli for 8th graders [email protected]

Sincerely,

Ned Dale
