Update from Cosgrove!

November 9, 2018

Good morning from a very chilly Cosgrove Middle School.  Things around here are really heating up.  Last Friday, our Festival of Nations was an amazing success with over twenty countries represented.  Today, we hosted a religious panel so that our 6th grade students could learn about the different religions in Social Studies.  Yesterday, we enjoyed seeing the high school’s production of The Drowsy Chaperone.

For the first time ever, Cosgrove had a live morning show that provided to be our announcements.   Mr. Swanson truly deserves an award for pulling off a great first show with our students.  This student run production will be a great way to engage our students each morning and allow them to create brief public service announcements, updates and recognize our Cosgrove community.  After each day’s announcements, they will be able to be accessed via Youtube.com   Please consider subscribing.  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRaJsit8jwgXWWFcPmKF4yQ

Report cards will be mailed next Friday for you to review with your child.  Please set a goal with them for the 2nd quarter.  If you need help monitoring your child’s grades through Infinite Campus, please call 349-5324 and speak with Linda Sauter.

November is the time for many to be thankful. As I enter my last week as Principal, I must say that I have felt so lucky to be at Cosgrove for the past fourteen years.  Cosgrove was formerly designated as a School In Need of Improvement, but is now recognized by New York State and nationally as a School to Watch.  The growth and accomplishments that we have made have been the direct result of the dedicated teachers and staff that were supported by our parents and community.

Next week, I will be working collaboratively with Mrs. Kristen Paolini, Interim Principal and the administrative team to ensure that there is a smooth transition for the students and staff at Cosgrove.  Mr. Centola and Mrs. Pincelli are talented assistant principals and I am confident that they will support Mrs. Paolini and Cosgrove during this transitional period.

Since coming to Spencerport in 2000, I have appreciated the support of the students, community and staff.  As I transition to the next chapter of my career, I want everyone to know that I will be forever grateful for the experiences and relationships that I have made while in Spencerport.

Sincerely,

Ned Dale
