Happy March!

It is hard to believe that we have almost reached the mid-way point of the third quarter. Mid-term grades will be available in Infinite Campus in a week or so, and this provides students and their families a great opportunity to gauge their progress. Please review these progress reports with your child and discuss ways to maintain/improve their progress.

This past Thursday night I attended a powerful presentation on anxiety in our children. If you were not able to attend, the night was recorded and will be shared via our website in the coming weeks. Dr. Sullivan provided great information regarding causes of anxiety and how we as parents/educators can help our students overcome this. As a father of two boys, this was an eye opening presentation for me as a parent, and one that my wife and I have discussed quite a bit over the last few days. I would encourage you to watch this presentation when it becomes available.

We are approaching a busy time of year at Cosgrove. Here are a few important upcoming dates for you to remember:

March 4th – Kids Escaping Drugs presentation to our 8th grade students during flex.

March 8th and 9th – Cosgrove Drama Club presents Disney’s Little Mermaid.

March 22 – Superintendents Conference Day – no school for students

April 2nd and 3rd – NYS ELA testing – we will follow a modified schedule these days. As a reminder, all exams will be administered via the computer this year.

April 12 – Superintendents Conference Day – no school for students.

April 15-19 – Spring Break!

May 1st and 2nd - NYS Math testing

Thank you for your continued support of Cosgrove and our students. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly with any questions or concerns.

 All the best,
