Cosgrove update 11-1
Published on Nov 1, 2019 16:12
Hello from Cosgrove!
I hope this message finds you well. It has been a busy couple of weeks at Cosgrove and it is hard to believe that the first quarter will close on Friday, November 8th. Please encourage your child to see their teachers next week if they need to make up any work. Below are a number of important reminders as we move into November.
Going green with digital report cards
As we look forward to the end of the first marking period, Spencerport Central School District continues to work toward the implementation of digital report cards.
This change offers an opportunity for parents/guardians to receive their students' report cards quickly, in a more cost-effective and eco-friendly way. The easy-to-use system, known as Campus Backpack, will provide 24-hour access to report cards through the existing Infinite Campus Portal.
All families will receive a paper copy of the report card for the first marking period, along with the digital copy available through Campus Backpack. Please be mindful that, after the first marking period, all report cards will ONLY be available through Campus Backpack and will not be mailed or sent home with students. Please look for the instructions on how to access Campus Backpack enclosed with the first report card. Instructions will also be published soon on the district's website. Please take a look at this great video that will help with the transition: https://ensemble.monroe2boces.org/Watch/o4B6YbRj
November 8th half day for students
Friday, November 8th is a half day for students. Please see the agenda for the day:
DEC Camp Scholarship Application Open!
The Nature Center Committee is now accepting applications for our DEC Summer Camp Scholarship. If you have a student who is interested in the outdoors and you think would like this opportunity, please encourage them to fill out an application! Applications for the scholarship are on the nature center website and there are paper copies in the counseling office. Applications are due November 26th, 2019 to the counseling office.
Festival of Nations Event:
As a reminder, our annual Festival of Nations event is scheduled for Friday, November 15th from 6-9pm. This night includes multi-cultural performances and a showcase of numerous countries and cultures from around the world. We hope you are able to join us.
Cosgrove Book Fair
Book Fair is November 12-15th. This year we're asking advisement and study hall monitors send only students who either have money or would like to make a wish list to the library during this time. We will also be conducting our book fair during the Festival of Nations event.
Parent Teacher conferences
Our second night of parent teacher conferences will be held on November 20th from 3:45-6:45. If you would like a conference with your child’s teachers, please contact the main office to set up a time.
I hope that the first quarter of the school year has been a successful one for your child. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Jim Centola
Cosgrove Principal
