Hello Cosgrove Families!

I hope this message finds you well and you had an enjoyable holiday season with your family and friends. It has been a great two weeks back at school. Today was career day for our 6th grade students. Students were exposed to a variety of professionals from a wide array of fields. 6th grade parents, please be sure to speak with your child about this great experience. Our 7th grade students will be visiting WeMoCo next week to learn about all of the great experience that program offers students beginning in 10th grade. Later in the spring, our 8th grade students will be visiting SUNY Brockport to experience the feel of a college campus. These experiences reinforce our commitment to prepare students for the future beyond high school.

Below is an important message from our nurse, Samantha Orlando:

Parents,

This is a record flu season across NYS, and here at Cosgrove we are seeing quite a bit of flu, strep, and stomach bugs going around at this time. I just wanted to send out a couple reminders that will help us all stay healthy this season!

  • If your child is diagnosed with Influenza or Strep, please make sure to notify the school nurse via phone (585-349-5351) or email ([email protected]) – this allows us to track what is currently going around Cosgrove and act accordingly
  • The best way to prevent the spread of germs is to wash hands often, avoid touching your face, stay away from sick people when possible, and keep sick students home to rest and heal
  • Students who have a fever above 100 should always be kept home. Students may not return until they have been fever-free and off all fever-reducing medication for a MINIMUM of 24 hours.
  • Students experiencing multiple episodes of vomiting or diarrhea should always be kept home.
  • A student with a significant cough that makes them feel uncomfortable or would disrupt class time learning should stay home.

Thank you so much for all that you do to keep your students healthy at home!

It is hard to believe, but it is almost time to order yearbooks. Here is the link to order yearbooks.

Thank you to Mrs. Roth for organizing and creating our yearbook. They cost $30 and you must order by March 1 to guarantee a copy. These will be distributed in June.

Our second quarter ends next Friday (January 24). Please encourage your child to touch base with their teachers (and check infinite campus) in regards to any missing work. As a reminder, second quarter report cards will not be mailed, and will be available via the infinite campus online backpack. If you have not already accessed your account, please contact Linda Sauter at 349-5324 for assistance.

As always, thank you for all of your continued support. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Take care,

Jim
